JOB OVERVIEW

We are in search of a highly driven Civil Engineer specializing in Software Sales to join our team. In Rwanda, over 90 percent of practitioners and teams from both private companies and government institutions use pirated software licenses for their technical projects.

Notably, a significant part of these pirated licenses is dominant within government institutions, where the adoption of authorized licenses remains scarce. Thus, our focus lies in recruiting an engineer well-versed in this dynamic and possessing the ability to leverage the essential value of investing in original software licenses.

Therefore, we are recruiting an engineer who understands this problem very well and has influence to use the value within investing into original software licenses and legal power we have to move the local market to original licenses.

The candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting and selling original licenses, mainly Autodesk, Protastructure, and Planswift to a diverse clientele including companies, engineering colleges, and government entities. This complex role necessitates not only a robust technical understanding of civil engineering software but also a good understanding of the political landscape of the country. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, enabling them to effectively convey the value proposition of these software solutions to potential clients while navigating the details of the local market dynamics and regulatory framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Civil Engineer in charge of original software sales at our company will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  1. Market Analysis and Research:
    • You will conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify potential clients and understand their current software licensing practices.
    • You will research the dominance of pirated software licenses, particularly within government institutions.
    • You will analyze market trends to identify opportunities for promoting original software licenses.
  2. Advocacy and Influence:
    • You will advocate for the adoption of original software licenses, emphasizing the benefits and legal implications to stakeholders.
    • You will utilize personal influence and persuasive skills to encourage government institutions and other organizations to invest in original licenses.
    • You will collaborate with industry associations and regulatory bodies to promote awareness and compliance with software licensing regulations.
  3. Sales Promotion and Client Acquisition:
    • You will develop and implement effective sales strategies to promote and sell original licenses from the companies we represent with much focus on Autodesk, Protastructure, and Planswift.
    • You will identify and target potential clients, including companies, engineering colleges, and government entities. starting from the ones we already have in a pipeline.
    • You will conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of original software licenses.
    • You will build and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
    • You will coordinate with software buyers and partners to ensure alignment of sales efforts and maximize support for clients.
  4. Technical Expertise:
    • You will provide technical guidance to clients, addressing their questions and concerns about software choices and value of money.
    • You will stay updated on the latest developments and updates in civil engineering software to effectively communicate product value to clients.
  5. Political Awareness and Compliance:
    • You will stay informed about the political landscape in Rwanda, particularly as it relates to software licensing regulations and government policies.
    • You will ensure compliance with local regulations and legal requirements related to software licensing.
    • You will provide guidance to clients on the legal implications of using pirated software licenses and advocate for adherence to legal standards.
  6. Reporting and Analysis:
    • You will maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and market trends.
    • You will prepare regular reports and analysis to track sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • You will use data-driven insights to adjust sales strategies and tactics for maximum effectiveness.
  7. Training and Education:
    • You will provide training and education to clients on the benefits of using original software licenses and the proper use of civil engineering software tools.
    • You will conduct workshops or seminars to educate clients on software licensing best practices and compliance requirements.
